Obituary: Marie (Hartman) Harris, Age 74, born Mar. 9, 1914, died Nov. 10, 1988 Published: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Marie Hanger Harris, 74, of 1004 Albemarle Ave., died Thursday evening (Nov. 10, 1988) at her residence. She was born in Grottoes March 9, 1914, a daughter of Harry Clifton and Jettie Thacker Hartman. Mrs. Harris attended the Jehovah's Witnesses Church in Waynesboro. She was a past member of a ladies auxiliary at the Raphirfe VFW post. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Betty H. Childress of Waynesboro, Mrs. Barbara H. Truslow of Stuarts Draft and Mrs. Gloria (Totie) Wood of Waynesboro; one sister, Mrs. Harvey (Junanita) Wood of Kernersville, N.C.; and one brother, Mr. Harry Hartman of Richmond. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Pete Hanger in 1963; her second husband, William B. Harris, in 1978; a daughter, Sherrie DeWayne Hanger; two sisters, Mrs. Oscar B. Hall and Mrs. Frank (Evelyn) Taylor; and one brother, James Hartman. A service has been scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Stan Shirk. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be granddaughters and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 8 in the funeral home and at other times at the daughters' homes.
