Obituary: Helen (Spencer) Huff, 2003 Source: The News and Advance, February 1, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Helen (Spencer) Huff, 92, of Lynchburg, died Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. She was the wife of the late Adger Elmo "Buddy" Huff. Born Nov. 14, 1910, in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Walter Spencer Sr. and Eva Burnett Spencer. She was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, William B. Spencer and a sister, Violet S. Roberts. Surviving are her son, Edward Denton Huff and wife Helen of Midlothian; two daughters, Dorothy H. Hopp and husband Peter, and Rita H. Price, all of Lynchburg; two brothers, Charles W. Spencer Jr. of Shipman and Al Ray Spencer and wife Margaret of Lynchburg; three sisters, Mildred S. Bond and husband Pierce of Lynchburg, Evelyn S. Hillis of Hyattsville, Md., and Janet S. Miller and husband Russell of Shipman; a brother-in-law, John S. Roberts, Sr. of Shipman; a sister-in-law, Margaret H. Johnson of Lynchburg; and nine grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. A service will be held today at 1 p.m., in the chapel at Fort Hill Memorial Park, with the Rev. Randy L. Bower officiating.
