Obituary: Ivan Phillip Hughes, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, January 2, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------- Ivan Phillip Hughes, 44, of Lodebar Estate, Nellysford, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at the University of Virginia Medical Center after a brief illness. Ivan was born March 22, 1958, in Waynesboro, a son of Zack P. Hughes and Bonnie Hutson Hughes of Nellysford. He was a member of Rockfish Valley Baptist Church and an employee of McKee Foods Corp. of Stuarts Draft. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his devoted wife, Terry Farmer Hughes; his special loving pets, Smokey and Squeaky; his caring sister, Joan H. Martin and her husband, Walter, of Nellysford; his mother-in-law, Katherine Varacalli of Waynesboro; his father-in-law, Frank Farmer of Duffield; three sisters- in-law, Linda Beverly and husband, Dick, of Charlottesville, Billie Chappell and husband, Bob, of Afton, and Helen Nunley and husband, Russell, of Bluefield, W.Va.; two aunts, Phyllis Rhodes and husband, John, and Shanny Hamilton and husband, Bill, all of Waynesboro; uncle, Henry Hughes and wife, Sally, of Nellysford; a niece, Nina A. Martin; a nephew, Christopher N. Martin, both of Nellysford; and several cousins. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Rockfish Valley Baptist Church at Nellysford, with the Rev. Robert Woodson, the Rev. David Snodgrass and the Rev. John Green officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
