Obituary: James Thomas Irving Source: The Daily Progress, Tuesday, September 23, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, aquaair@erols.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Thomas Irving, 77, of Arrington, departed this life Friday, September 19, 2003, at his residence. Born in Nelson County, August 3, 1926, he was the son of the late Henry Irving Sr. and Florence Turner Irving. He was preceded in death by his wife Izetta Thompson Irving. Mr. Irving attended New Mount Baptist Church. He is survived by five sons, Thomas A., Michael G., and Eric M. Riving, all of Arrington, Leon M. Irving, of Detroit, Mich., and Stanley D. Irving of Charlottesville; three daughters, Florence E. Woods of Detroit, Mich., Lucille J. Irving, and Elcinda D. Irving, both of Arrington; one sister, Lucille Gardner of Madison Heights; brother-in-law, Amos Thompson of Washington, D.C.; nineteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; devoted friend, Cindy Sue Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2003, at New Mount Baptist Church, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery.
