Obituary: Linwood Micklem Jordan Source: The Daily Progress, August 15, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, aquaair@erols.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Linwood Micklem Jordan, 80, of Schuyler died Wednesday morning August 13, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center. Born May 8, 1923, he was the son of the late Morris Edward Jordan and Mattie Kidd Jordan and besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Eula Shifflett. Linwood, known lovingly by family and friends as "Fats" recently stayed at the Lovingston Health Care Center but was a lifetime resident of Schuyler. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Elizabeth Napier Jordan and very special family members, Wayne Franklin Napier Sr., and wife, Michele of Charlottesville, Angela Napier Wooten and husband, Mike of Shipman and Wayne Franklin Napier Jr., and wife Stephanie of New Market, Md.; four special great- grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan and Nelson Wooten all of Shipman and Evan Micklem Napier of New Market, Md.; other special family includes, Portia Lance and her husband, Tom of Charlottesville, a niece, Susie Taylor and her family of Richmond. Linwood worked for many years at the former Alberene Stone Co., in Schuyler where he served as Union President and later retired from Frank IX and Sons of Charlottesville. In recent years he enjoyed his time by reading and watching his favorite baseball team the Atlanta Braves. He also followed the progress of his great- grandchildren who played at Cove Creek Park and Nelson County High School. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with Rev. John P. Campbell officiating with interment in the Gentry Family Cemetery at Schuyler.
