  Gladys Lawhorne Luongo of Apollo Beach, Fla., formally of Tabb, died 
Jan. 19, 2002.
  She was the wife of Angelo (Tony) Luongo.
  Born in Nelson County, Nov. 3, 1929, she was a daughter of James Lucian 
and Bessie Snead Lawhorne.
  In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Louis Luongo of 
Yorktown; four daughters, Ann L. Loar of Oregon, Connie L. Carr of Yorktown, 
Angela L. Buck of Pennsylvania and Mary L. Shaw of South Carolina; one brother, 
Dickie Lawhorne of Massies Mill; three sisters, Robbie L. Groff of Hampton, 
Margaret L. Fitzgerald and Nell L. Everitt of Roseland; two half-sisters, 
Elizabeth C. Molzhon of Hampton and Corinne H. Painter of Amherst.
  A memorial service was held in Florida and another is planned in Hampton at 
a later date.
