Dan Mathew Martin
Hopeman Brothers retiree
AFTON - Dan Mathew Martin, of Waynesboro, passed away unexpectedly early 
Saturday (Jan. 24, 2004) in Afton.
He was born May 4, 1943. He was a native of Nelson County and a longtime 
resident of Waynesboro.
He retired from Hopeman Brothers Lofton Company before starting his own 
handyman service which he ran for several years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Martin; and his brother, Walter 
(Freddie) Martin.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred J. Martin; a son, Michael Dan Martin; a 
daughter, Penny Y. Sloope; several grandchildren; as well as brothers, Jimmie, 
Jerry and Preston Martin; and sisters, Janice Kennedy, Sharon DeHart and 
Kathleen Hoover.
We will greatly miss both him and his quirky sense of humor.
