AFTON - David Allen Mays, 55, of Cherry Grove Lane, Afton, (Nelson County), 
died Thursday Morning, Jan. 29, 2004, at his residence after a brief illness.
Born May 11, 1948, at Staunton he was a son of the late Melvin Junior Mays and 
Nellie Allen Mays. He was a self employed Landscaper.
David is survived by his caring wife, Nancy Camden Mays; his loving daughter, 
Sandra Marsh of Afton; his Step-son, Chad Mays, of Roanoke; four devoted 
sisters, Ruby Ledford and Linda Bozga, both of Afton and Dorothy Henderson and 
Mary Johnson, both of Lyndhurst; and a brother, Edsol Mays, of Scottsville. 
Three grandchildren, Timmy, Krissy and Cody Marsh, along with several nieces 
and nephews.
A memorial service for David will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday Feb. 28, 2004, at 
the Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with the Rev. Scott Jewell 
officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
