Martin William Earl Martin, 64, of Route 1, Shipman died Saturday afternoon, as a result of an automobile accident. Born Aug. 10, 1928 at Dutch Hollow in Nelson County, he was a son of the late Elmer C. Booth and Mamie Martin. He was a member of the Rock Spring United Methodist Church and attended the Downtown Baptist Church in Alexandria. He was a retired general foreman with the Southern Railroad with over 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Inelda (Nell) Carroll Martin; a son Earl D. Martin of Hagerstown Md.; four sisters Kathleen Evans, Susie Evans and Mildred Evans all of Schuyler and Dolly Hawley of Shipman; two brothers, Clarence E. Booth of Schuyler and Raymond A. Booth of Arrington; and one grandchild. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1993 in Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston with the Rev. John P. Campbell officiating with burial in the Harris Family cemetery at Shipman.
