Obituary: Samuel Kemper Mawyer, 1992 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Suzanne Wood Painter ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Samuel Kemper Mawyer Samuel Kemper Mawyer, 99, husband of the late Ella Blanche Martin Mawyer, died Thursday, May 21, 1992, in a Richmond nursing home. Born Aug 8, 1892, at Myndus, he was a son of hte late Samuel Woods Mawyer and Nannie Roberts Mawyer. Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Samuel Otis Mawyer in 1977. He was a self-employed farmer all his life, a U.S. Army and World War I veteran and a life long member of Adail Baptist Church. He is survived by one son, Harold S. Mawyer of Richmond, two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth M. Harvey, of Lovingston, and Mrs. Ella Louise Tyson of Virginia Beach; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday,May 23 in Adial Baptist Church with Rev Michael Bond officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
