Obituary: Donald Sterling McGann

  Donald Sterling McGann, 45, died Monday, June 16, 2003, at his home in Nellysford.
  Born in Nelson County on June 10, 1958, he was a son of Phyllis McGann Flanagan of 
Nellysford and Donald McGann of Stuarts Draft.
  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Jessie 
Frazier McGann; two sons, Jeremy Michael McGann and his wife, Sandy, of Waynesboro, 
and Logan Sterling McGann of Nellysford; a sister, Regina Shifflett and her husband, 
Gregory, and their children, Brooke and Ryan, also of Nellysford; a twin brother, 
Jeff Ross McGann of Nellysford and his son, Brandon of Afton; two half-brothers, 
Chris McGann and Ricky Berry, a half-sister, Pam Royer, all of Stuarts Draft, his 
paternal grandmother, Thelma McGann of Nellysford; step-mother, Shirley McGann of 
Stuarts Draft; and many other loving relatives and friends.
  Sterling was a devoted husband and father who loved his family. He was an avid 
outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and working with wood. He will be greatly 
missed by his family and friends.
  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Byrum-Parr 
Funeral Home, Roseland, by Pastor Robert Mansfield with burial on the McGann property 
in Stoney Creek. Immediately following the service, the family will receive friends 
in the social hall of Beech Grove Christian Church.
  The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
  Honorary flower bearers will be, David McGann, Joel Falls, Beau Ryan, Greg Shifflett, 
Wayne Fitzgerald, Warren Fitzgerald, Chris McGann, Bob Hunt, Billy Gormes, Carl Sites, 
Darrell Stevens, Steve Durkee, Justin Durkee, Brandon Durkee, John Hincle, Jimmy McGann, 
Freddie McGann, Brian Alexander, Justin Crimi, Rodney McCalester, Delane Fitzgerald, 
Ricardo Salles, Jeff Ferguson and Mike Hull.
