Mills III Howard R. (Howdy) Mills III, 40 of Schuyler, died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, in Tampa, Fla. Born in Charlottesville on Sept. 16. 1959, he was the son of the late Mattie Louise Morris Mills. He also was preceded in death by a brother Steven E. Mills. Howdy love his family, his home and his animals. He was an avid music fan and loved reading. He was a big follower of NASCAR racing and had attended the Richard Petty Driving School in Charlotte, N.C., as well as Piedmont Community College. He was the owner and operator of H.R. Mills Trucking. Howdy is survived by his wife, Stephanie Clark Mills; and two sons, Jonathan and Skyler, all of Schuyler; his father, Howard R. Mills, Jr. and his wife Amanda, of North Garden; one sister, Wanda Ann Clements of Eldersburg, Md.; one brother, Glenn S. Mills of Crozet; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Mills of Charlottesville; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Percy and Eula Clark, his sisters-in-law, Jackie Miller, Amy Snapp and Kim Clark, and his wife’s grandmother, Martha Clark all of Schuyler. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Teague Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Scott Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Alberene Cemetery.
