Obituary: Elizabeth C. Molzhon, 2002 Source: Nelson County Times Contributor: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------------- Elizabeth C. Molzhon Elizabeth C. Molzhon, 79, died Friday, August 30, 2002 after a three-year battle with ALS. Born in Nelson County, Elizabeth was a 50-year resident of Hampton, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie Pearl Snead and James Corbett Carr; her sister Gladys Luongo; husbands, John Joseph "Jack" Kellogg and William Garris. Until ALS took her abilities, Elizabeth was well known for her botanical knowledge and culinary talents. She is survived by children, Norma K. Kelley of Virginia Beach, Elizabeth Jane Kellogg of Spokane, Wash., John Joseph Kellogg Jr., of San Diego, Calif.; her sisters, Bobbie Groff of Hampton and Nell Everette and Margaret Fitzgerald of Nelson County; brother, Dick Lawhorn of Nelson County; two grandsons; two great-grandchildren. We will miss her always and will remember her love of life and the Atlanta Braves, her quick wit, laugh, beautiful smile and inquiring mind. A celebration of her life will take place at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2002 at Northhampton Church of Christ, 1409 Todds Lane, Hampton. Pastor Larry Jones of Northside Church of Christ will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church immediately following the service. The family wishes to thank all of the caregivers, friends and supporters of Elizabeth and her family during her struggle with ALS.
