Obituary: Samuel Morris, Sr. Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Mary Woolls, Mara5wool@aol.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Samuel Morris, Sr., formerly of Alexandria, died Friday, August 11 at his home in Schuyler, Va. Mr. Morris turned 75 years old on the day of his death. He was a retired employee of the RF&P Railroad and had worked at Potomac Yards in Alexandria before his retirement in 1968. He was a member of F.O.E. Survivors include his wife, Bessie Hamner of Schuyler; two sons, Samuel Jr. and Clifton N. of Alexandria; a daughter, Janet Morris Bryan of Alexandria; a sister, Vertie Morris of Schuyler; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home in Scottsville, Va. With burial at Norwell Cemetery in Schuyler. Contributor’s notes: Samuel Morris was the son of Florence Thompson Morris and Alexander N. Morris.
