Obituary: Margaret Goff McRay Pace, 1988 Source: The Daily Progress - April 7, 1988 Contributor: Jim McRay ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs. Margaret Goff Pace, 64, of 1300 Chesapeake St., died Wednesday, April 6, 1988, at her home. Born in Nelson County on November 10, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Dabney H. and Julia Phillips Goff. She was the widow of Franklin A. Pace. Mrs. Pace was retired from Colonial Stores. Survivors, including son, James E. McRay of Glen Allen; three sisters, Mattie G. Thompson of Faber, Bertha G. Weeks of Charlottesville and Amanda G. Phillips of Richmond; five brothers, Gilbert Goff of Esmont, Dillard Goff of Lovingston, Howard Goff of Charlottesville, Melvin Goff and Calvin Goff both of Faber; two grandsons, Bryan McRay and Kevin McRay; a devoted niece, Ruby Sandridge and many other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Wayne D. McRay. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at noon Saturday at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7-8 P.M. Friday at its residence 1300 Chesapeake St. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 175 South Pantops Drive, Charlottesville, Va 22901, or the Hospice of the Piedmont, 1002 E. Jefferson St., Charlottesville, Va 22901.
