OBITUARY: MRS. MARY ETTA PAINTER, 1960 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------ WAYNESBORO -- Mrs. Mary Etta Painter, 75, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday (April 10, 1960) at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Harris, Rt. 1, Waynesboro. She was a member of the Greenmont Mennonite Church and was born Oct. 6, 1884 in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Andrew J. and Bernice Coffey Bryant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles B. Painter, in 1951. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Harris, Rt. 1, Waynesboro, Mrs. Fred Coffey, Lyndhurst, and Mrs. Ernest Howdyshell, Churchville, one step-daughter, Mrs. Margie Painter, Lyndhurst; seven step-sons, Claude Painter, Lyndhurst; Louis Painter, Waynesboro; Harry Painter and Earl Painter, both of Rhode Island; Winston Painter, Roanoke; John Powell and Frank Powell, both of Lovingston; one sister, Mrs. Vernon Wright, Schuyler; two brothers, David Bryant, Baltimore, Md., and Cyrus Bryant, Waynesboro; also a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at two p.m, in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John D. Martin, with interment in Pines Chapel Church cemetery, near Greenville. Active Pallbearers: Louis Painter, Claude Painter, Ray Coffey, Leland Coffey, Bennie Howdyshell and Donald Harris. Honorary pallbearers: D. W.
