OBITUARY: ALEXANDER T. PAINTER, 1986 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow ------------------------------------------------------ Alexander Thomas Painter, 86, of 9323 Wellington Drive, Seabrook, Md., died Wednesday, (February 5, 1986) in Doctor's Hospital, Seabrook, Md. He had lived in Seabrook since 1972. Mr. Painter was born September 10, 1899 in Nelson County, a son of the late David Edward and Sarah Frances Coffey Painter. He was a member of Greenville Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. Surviving are four children: Mrs. Pauline Lambert, Seabrook, Md., Mrs. Robert (Ethel) Baker, Staunton, Fred H. Painter, Staunton, and A. Thomas Painter Jr., Fort Defiance; 11 grandchildren and 17 great- grandchildren. A son, Raymond E. Painter, was killed in service on September 1, 1944. His wife, Mrs. Mattie Ann Cash Painter, died June 16, 1941. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Hamrick Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. R. Levi Stroud Jr. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons: Eddie Painter, Ricky Painter, Steve Lambert, Danny Baker, Gary Baker, Roger Baker, Kenny Baker and Jeff Baker. The family suggests memorials be made to Mt. Carmel Cemetery, in care of Louis Ramsey, Steeles Tavern, Va. 24476.
