Obituary: James E. Phillips, 1997 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Ronnie Fitzgerald -------------------------------------------------------------------- James Edward "Dinky" Phillips, 79, of Schuyler, died Monday, March 17, 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Alice Phillips; and two brothers, Preston and Carl Phillips. Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Phillips; one daughter, Faye P. McKamey and her husband, Earnest, of Charlottesville; one son Ronald E. Phillips and his wife, Shirley, of Keene; one sister, Inez Miller of Schuyler; three brothers, Alfred "Bud" Phillips, Bruce Phillips, both of Schuyler, Jimmy Phillips of Spout Springs; three grandchildren, Ronald E. Phillips Jr. of Schuyler, Greg McKamey of Charlottesville, and Sandy Maslen of Earlysville; and two great-grandsons. Mr. Phillips was a member of New Faith United Methodist Church, Schuyler, and had retired from Monticello. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottesville, with the Rev. George E. Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Spring United Methodist Church Cemetery, Faber.
