Obituary: Chesley H. Puckett, died Feb. 10, 1988 Source: Unknown newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ROSELAND - Chesley Harold Puckett, 72, of Route 1, Roseland, died early this morning (Feb. 10) at Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born in Nelson County on Sept. 27, 1915, a son of the late Luther L. and Nannie Thompson Puckett. Mr. Puckett was retired from the DuPont Co. of Waynesboro and was a member of Wintergreen Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Campbell) Puckett; one son Harold Lee Puckett of Lynchburg; two daughters, Sharon P. Henkel of Dumfries and Karen P. Quick of Waynesboro; three sisters, Irene Thompson and Lillie Napier, both of Faber, and Hilda Sprouce of Fordwick; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Puckett. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Wintergreen, by the Rev. Cecil Rhodes. Burial will be in the Wintergreen Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Joe Lawhorne, Earle Thompson, Frank Napier, Raymond Spitter, Norman Napier and Elwood Small. Honorary pallbearers will be the adult Sunday school class and the Timothy Class of Wintergreen Christian Church.
