Obituary: Irvin Curtis Puckett Sr., 1988 Published: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Irvin Curtis Puckett Sr., 78, of 212 N. Poplar Ave., Cooks Trailer Park, died Saturday morning (May 28, 1988) at Waynesboro Community Hospital. He was born June 14, 1909, in Nelson County, a son of Edward Curtis and Florence Truslow Puckett. Mr. Puckett was a member of First Christian Church. He was a former plumber and steamfitter for Roanoke Plumbers and Steamfitters local Union No. 491. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Rife) Puckett; a son, Irvin C. Puckett Jr. of Waynesboro; a daughter, Mrs. Penny (Puckett) Andrake of Waynesboro; two brothers, Earl M. Puckett of Norfolk and Bud Puckett of Batesville; a sister, Mrs. Isabell Williams of Waynesboro; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John W. Puckett and Eddie W. Puckett; and three sisters, Mrs. Leunia Booth, Mrs. Bertha (Puckett) Moses, and Mrs. Signora (Puckett) Campbell. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Augusta Memorial Park by the Rev. Denis W. Kadian. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to First Christian Church, 241 N.
