Shirley Lee Patton, 59, of 545 Hays Branch Road, Afton, died Saturday, March 
27, 2004, at the University of Virginia Hospital.
She was born October 14, 1944, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late James 
Jarvis and Gertie (Dean) Jarvis. She worked as a lead lady for ConAgra and 
retired after 39 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward 
Patton Sr.; a son, Edward Patton Jr. in 1988; her step-father, Ellis Roberts; 
and a sister, Nancy Marie Harlow.
Surviving are her brothers and sisters: James, Barbara Ann, Charles, William 
"Duke", Judith, Mary Ellen, Tammy Lee, William "Willy-J", Jerry, Patrick, 
Missie, Janet, Judy, Susan and Lynn.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at McDow Funeral 
Home by the Rev. Merle Fisher. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, 
Waynesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Elic Roberts, Allen Coffey, Timmy Coffey, Ronnie 
Truslow, Ratt Wood and Chris Brouce. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight, March 29, 2004, at 
McDow Funeral Home.
McDow Funeral Service, Waynesboro, is in charge of arrangements.
