"Granny" Quick, 90, died Friday night (Feb. 11, 1994) at the home of her daughter, Jacqueline Walker, 526 King Ave. She was born Sunday, March 29, 1903, at Nellysford, a daughter of the late Sheffey L. and Gertrude Meeks Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Metford G. Quick; four sisters, Pauline Truslow, Ivetta Davis, Virginia Davis and LaNieve Whately; three brothers, Ross Davis, Delmas Davis and Sheffey Davis. She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Walker of Waynesboro; two sons, Daniel Quick and Herbert Quick; three grandchildren, Joseph G. "Jody" Walker Jr., Cherl Atkins and Terry Campbell; seven other grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great- grandchild; six sisters, Frances Geiman, Shirley Snider, Charlotte Campbell, all of Waynesboro, Olive Ashby of Staunton, Dorothy Apple of Glen Allen and Barbara Gunter of Wintergreen: one brother, Kenneth Davis of Stuarts draft; and her stepmother, Robbie Harris of Nelson County. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Beacham with burial in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Nevin Geiman, Deveraux Davis, Ernest Snider, Wesley Truslow, Nelson Davis and R. Page Kent. Honorary pallbearers will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
