  BUENA VISTA -- Harold Garber Ramsey; 73, died on Thursday (Feb. 4, 1993) 
in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Salem.
  He was born on Dec. 31, 1919 in Nelson County, a son of Levi Garber and 
Edna (Robertson) Ramsey.
  He was a retired carpenter and maintenance worker at Southern Seminary 
and a member of Buena Vista VFW Post 1499.  He was a veteran of World 
War II.
  His wife Muritta M. Ramsey died on Jan. 10, 1993.
  He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Harris of Roanoke and Joyce 
Reid and Elna Fultz, both of Buena Vista; a son, Hansford Garber Ramsey of 
Portsmouth; two stepdaughters, Ruby Hull and Louise Humphries, both of Buena 
Vista; three stepsons, Marion and Calvin, both of Buena Vista and Donald 
Mason of Vesuvius; two brothers, C.L. of Stuarts Draft and David Grey Ramsey 
of Gloucester; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; 
and nine step-great-grandchildren.
  A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Lomax Funeral Home by the 
Rev. Dean Staton, with burial at Green Hill Cemetery.
  The family will receive friends from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.
