Rogers Source: The Daily Progress, February 6, 2003 Gertrude Strohmyer Rogers died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at Rosewood Village Retirement Center in Charlottesville. Born in Galena, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Henry L. Strohmyer and Mary Louisa Becker Strohmyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph C. Rogers in 1991. Gertrude was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Galena, Ill., and was a retired legal secretary for the law firm of Nach & Nach in Galena. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara R. Gibb and her husband, Hank of Nellysford; a grandson, Jonathan Gibb of Nellysford; and a granddaughter, Heather Gibb of Beech Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lovingston with Father Daniel Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Galena, Ill. The family suggests those wishing to make memorial contributions consider the Wintergreen Volunteer Fire Department or the Wintergreen Volunteer Rescue Squad at P.O. Box 711 Nellysford, Va. 22958.
