Obituary: Shelby Thompson Rucker, 2002 Source: Amherst New Era-Progress, Thursday, November 14, 2002 Contributor: Elodie Thompson -------------------------------------------------------------- Shelby Thompson Rucker MADISON HEIGHTS-Shelby Thompson Rucker, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at her residence. She was the wife of the late Clyde Talmadge Rucker. She was born in Charlottesville, May 20, 1936, and grew up in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Waller and Mary Kidd Thompson. She was a member of Madison Heights Christian Church. Survivors include two sons, Alvin L. Rucker and Printice E. Rucker, both of Madison Heights; two sisters, Charlotte Creasy of Lynchburg and Sharon Morris of Lovingston; four granddaughters; and one great-granddaughter. A funeral service was conducted Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002 from Madison Heights Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Land officiating. Interment followed in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
