Rev. Pete Russell, age 79, of Schuyler, (Nelson County), died January 10, 
2004, at his home.
He was the son of the late Earnest W. and Goldie Shepherson Russell. He is 
survived by his wife, Virginia Tinnell Russell; his daughter, Pat Spalding of 
Florida; his sister, Hazel Abernathy of Tenn.; four nephews and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earnest and Lawrence 
Russell and three sisters, Rev. Lillian Russell, Virginia Hazelgrove and Polly 
Russell.
Rev. Russell served the Lord through his music ministry for many years and as 
Pastor of Oak Hill Baptist Church (in Lovingston, Nelson County) for nine 
years. He was a retired meat manager for Ukrops Supermarkets of Richmond.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Hill Baptist 
Church with interment in the church cemetery with the Rev. David Abernathy and 
the Rev. Carroll Welch officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Hill Baptist Church, 248 Davis 
Creek Lane, Lovingston, VA., 22949.
Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn, is in charge of arrangements.
