Obituary: Cecil Everett Scott, 1991 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ---------------------------------------------------------------- AFTON - Cecil Everett Scott, 62, Route 2, Box 603, Afton, died Friday evening (July 5, 1991) at his residence. He was born July 26, 1928, in Nelson County, a son of Cecil V. and Dora Fitzgerald Scott. Mr. Scott was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He retired from Acme Visible Records with 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Pearline Carter Carter Scott, on Feb. 22, 1986; and a brother, the Rev. Edward J. Scott. Survivors include a son, Larry Everett Scott of Afton; two daughters, Mrs. Randall (Sue) Adkins of Waynesboro and Mrs. Kevin (Martha) Craig of Lyndhurst; two brothers, Cladie J. Scott of Afton and the Rev. Mitchell Scott of Waynesboro; six sisters, Annie Mae Truslow of Faber, Florine Campbell and Pearline Anderson, both of Afton, Louise Puckett of Charlottesville, Maggie Fitzgerald of Waynesboro and Lillian Gibson of Rochester, Mich; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hebron Baptist Church by the Revs. Sebert W. Rorrer and Mitchell Scott. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Allan Carter, Andy Carter, Merrit S. Scott, Roger Scott, Mitchell Scott Jr. and Johnny Wine. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Farrar, Tommy Swink, A.G. Small, Rocky Jones, Billy Wilt, James Ferguson, Bill Critzer, Carl Riddle, Mitchell Scott III and Timothy Craig. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in McDow Funeral Home.
