Mitchell V. Scott Sr., 57, Husband of Margel Gibson Scott, of 440 Woodland Circle, pastor of Mountain View Full Gospel Church of Afton, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday (Nov. 26, 1993) at the home of his mother-in-law on Route 1, Afton. He was born Monday, June 15, 1936, in Charlottesville, a son of Cecil Void and Dora Fitzgerald Scott (of Nelson County). He was preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Scott and Edward Scott; a grand- daughter, Stella Riddle; a step-granddaughter Julia Bowen; and a stepson, Michael Painter. He is survived by his wife, Margie Gibson Scott; three sons, Mickey Scott Jr. and Roger Scott, both of Afton, and Mike Scott of Waynesboro; four daughters, Lisa Wine of Grottoes, Tida Jones of Afton, Charlotte Riddle of Lyndhurst and Rita Kelley of Verona; one stepdaughter, Tina Tomey of Germany; six sisters, Pearline Anderson and Florine Campbell, both of Afton, Louise Puckett of Charlottesville, Maggie Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, Annie Mae Truslow of Nellysford and Lillian Gibson of Michigan; one brother, Cladie Scott of Afton; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind a dear friend and mother-in-law, Hannah Gibson. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mountain View Full Gospel Church by the Rev. Ronnie Watson and burial in Hebron Baptist Church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Petey Scott, David Woodson, Rickey Woodson, Shannon Wine, Richard Scott, Jerry Ramsey, Edward Adkins and Dennis Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
