Obituary: Lottie C. Shipp, 2002 Source: The News and Advance, Oct. 13, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow --------------------------------------------------------------- Lottie Crist Bryant Shipp of Charlottesville passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, at a local hospital. She was born in Nelson County the daughter of the late Thomas L. and Mary Purvis Crist. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Ernest T. Bryant and David H. Shipp; three sisters, Christine Giles, Bernelle Pritchett, and Dillie Jackson; and four brothers, Gilbert, Earnest, William, and Linwood Crist. Lottie was retired from Centel with 30 years of service, was a member of the Charlottesville Moose Lodge No. 731, and Calvary Baptist Church. She is survived by three children, Barbara Bryant Napier and her husband, Jimmy, of Troy, Morris Lee Bryant and his wife, Nancy, of Mineral, and David R. "Randy" Shipp and his wife, Debbie, of Charlottesville; three sisters, Frances Cooke of Charlottesville, Janet Cash and her husband, Charles, of Troy, and Ruby Chiara and her husband, Joe, of Harrisburg, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday morning in Riverview Cemetery, with the Rev. Rick Sadler officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice.
