Obituary: Willis Aubrey Spencer, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, Oct. 24, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow --------------------------------------------------------------- Willis Aubrey Spencer, 77, of Springhill, Fla., formerly of Nelson County, died Aug. 31, 2002, in a Springhill hospital. Born July 31, 1925, in Elmington, Nelson County, he was the son of the late Thomas Daniel Spencer and Floy Warwick Spencer. He was a graduate of Nelson County High School and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Southern Railroad in Washington, D.C., with 30 years of service. He was a member of the former Elmington United Methodist Church. He is survived by a niece, Inez S. Buchanan of Springfield; a nephew, Thomas W. Spencer Jr. of Monroe La.; and several cousins and friends in Nelson County. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, with the Rev. Daniel Abbott officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Lovingston. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
