Obituary: Jeannette Dawn Stevens Source: The Daily Progress, April 23, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow, aquaair@erols.com --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jeannette Dawn Stevens, 75, of Rockfish Depot Community, Shipman, died Monday, April 21, 2003, at her home. Born September 23, 1927, in Nelson County, she was a daughter of the late Frank Stevens Sr., and Bernice Parrish Stevens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Margie Bibb; and a brother, Frank Stevens Jr. Jeannette was a member of Woodland Baptist Church at Colleen and a retired employee of Craddock Terry Corp., of Lynchburg. She is survived by her daughter, Donna F. Taylor and her husband, Charles of Shipman; three sisters, Frances Browning of Shipman, Peggy Marshall and her husband, Marvin, of Earlysville, and Helen Gentry and her husband, Clayton of Richmond; two brothers, L.D. Stevens and his wife, Ann of Charlottesville, and Charles Stevens and his wife, Mary Ann of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Heather Colbert, Jodie Cyrus and Brian Colbert and his wife, Kat, all of Shipman, and Shawn Colbert of Waynesboro; special adopted grandchildren, Brian Tinnel and Boyd Corn; a special friend, Ricky Rodrigues; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held today at 3 p.m. at Woodland Baptist Church with the Rev. David Blevins officiating. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1490 Pantops Mountain Place, Suite 200, Charlottesville, Va. 22911.
