He was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church of Yancy. He has resided in Rockingham County since 1916. He is survived by his wife, Letitia Bloxton Stevens; 1 daughter, Mary Ware at home; 2 sons, Thomas B. Stevens of Washington, D.C. and John F. Stevens of Baltimore; his mother, Samantha Thompson Stevens of Philadelphia; 1 sister, Harriett Shifflett; 7 brothers, Egbert H. of Baltimore, Harry A. of Trevillian, Robert K. of Ocean City, New Jersey, Hunter R., Sam K., Guy C. and Burnett Stevens of Philadelphia; 5 grand- children, 7 nieces and 5 nephews. (Date of burial not recorded but buried at Maplewood Cemetery, Orange) Note: Son of Robert F. and Samantha Thompson Stevens (of Nelson Co.).
