Obituary: Samantha (Thompson) Stevens

Mrs. Robert F. Stevens (Samantha Thompson Stevens, formerly of Nelson 
County), 93, died May 22, 1957 in Riverton, New Jersey.  She is survived 
by six sons, Edgbert Stevens of Baltimore, Harry A. of Trevillian, Guy C. 
and Samuel K. Stevens of Philadelphia, Burnett Stevens of Orange, Hunter R. 
Stevens of Riverton, New Jersey; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren 
and 1 great-great-grandchild.  Her burial will be on May 29, 1957 at 
Maplewood Cemetery.

Contributor’s note: Daughter of Robert C. and Nancy Loving Thompson.  She 
was born on August 14, 1864 in Nelson County.  She was married in Nelson 
County on March 23, 1884 in Nelson County to Robert Fletcher Stevens.  
Robert F. Stevens (the son of John James Stevens and Mary S. Loving) was 
born in Nelson County August 3, 1861, and he died June 19, 1926 in Louisa 
County.
