Strickland Sr., 2001 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Ronnie Fitzgerald ------------------------------------------------------------------------- James Malcolm Strickland Sr. James Malcolm Strickland Sr. 76, of Gladstone, died Sunday, May 20, 2001, after a long illness. He was the husband of Mary Payne Strickland. He was born December 17, 1924 in Tye River, a son of the late Edward Ambler Strickland and the late Mary Lucille Watts Strickland. He was a retired homebuilder and a veteran of World War 11 serving in the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Linda Freuh, Rosemary Aigeldinger and James Strickland Jr., 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The Rev. Jimmy Williams of Gladstone Memorial Baptist Church held a memorial service at the Strickland’s home on the day of his death. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James’ name to a charity of choice.
