Evelyn Flemming Shelton, 88, of Roanoke, and formerly a resident of 
Lovingston, died Thursday evening, April 22, 2004, at a Roanoke Hospital.
Born Oct. 10, 1915, in Nelson County, she was the daughter of the late William 
J. and Vern Shelton. She was the last member of her immediate family. She was 
a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston, a graduate of Nelson County 
High School and of James Madison College. Four cousins, Paul H. Shelton and 
Robert L. Shelton of Lovingston, Marion S. Schilling of Pasadena, Calif., and 
Audrey S. Coupe of Dublin, Calif., survive her.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at the 
graveside in Mountain View Cemetery in Lovingston with the Rev. John P. 
Campbell officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2004, at 
the funeral home and suggests that memorials take the form of donations in 
Evelyn's memory to The Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 264, 
Lovingston, VA 22949.
