OBITUARY: Melvin Hall Taylor, 1995 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------- Melvin Hall Taylor Melvin Hall Taylor, 77, of Roseland, died Thursday, April 27, 1995 at Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was the husband of Flossie Mays Taylor. Born in Nelson County Feb. 28, 1918, he was the son of the late Lafayette and Lilly Coffey Taylor. He was retired from the Virginia Department of Highways after 18 years of service and was a World War II verteran. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Betty Grubbs and Carol Cook, both of Concord, and Joyce Williams of Lynchburg; one brother, W.H. Taylor of Piney River; two sister, Nancy Smoot of Piney River and Mazie Campbell of Amherst; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted in Byurum-Parr Funeral Home by the Rev. John W. Robertson.
