OBITUARY: William H. Taylor, 2001 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------- William H. Taylor PINEY RIVER - William Huston "W.H." Taylor, 74, of Piney River, died Friday (April 27, 2001) at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was born April 13, 1927, in Nelson County; a son of the late Lafayette G. and Lillie Coffey Taylor. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran, a member of VFW Post 7701, Arrington, and was a retired shop foreman from Central Virginia Electric Cooperative with 32 years of service. He was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Melvin Taylor; and four sisters, Signora Dillard, Delgar Trice, Mary Hatter and Josephine Williams. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Carmina Wood Taylor; one son, Don Taylor and his wife, Wendy; of Afton; one daughter, Janet Wade and her husband, Gary, of Piney River; two sisters, Nancy Smoot of Piney River and Mazie Campbell of Lovingston; one sister in-law, Flossie Taylor of Lynchburg; two grandchildren, Tara Williams and her husband, Carl, and Gregg Wade and his wife, Missy; and four very special great- grandchildren, Cody Williams, McKenzie Williams, Alayna Wade and Haley Wade. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Jonesboro Cemetery by the Rev. John W. Robertson. The family will receive friends at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home, 7661 Patrick Henry Highway, Roseland, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mr. Taylor's many devoted friends throughout his illness, to the staff of the UVA Cancer Center, and Hospice of the Piedmont.
