OBITUARY: Gladys G. Taylor, 1993 SOURCE: Unknown newspaper CONTRIBUTOR: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------- Gladys G. Taylor Mrs. Gladys G. Taylor, 78, formerly of Route 4, Box 198, died at lO:30 p.m. Friday (July 16, l993) at Liberty House Nursing Home. She was born Oct. 20, 1914, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Charlie A. and Teressie Fitzgerald Coffey. She was employed with Genesco Clothing Manufacturing for 21 years before retirement in 1976. She was a member of Sherando Chrisian Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Woody Coffey and a sister, Mrs. Ottis (Eula) Fitzgerald, on Nov. 21, 1983. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Orcie W. Taylor, whom she married July 13, 1934; three sons, Safard "Sonny" Taylor, of Route 2, Stuarts Draft, Donald W. Taylor of Route 4, Waynesboro, and Ronald "Butch" Taylor of Route 1, Stuarts Draft; three daughters- in-law, Mary "Sissy" Taylor, Sue A. Taylor and Mary Lee Taylor; one sister, Mrs. Alvis (Myrtle) Grant of Shipman; two grandchildren, Jesse Taylor of Route 1, Stuarts Draft and Mrs. Greg (Nancy) Varner of Route 2 Mt. Solon; and by a number of nieces and nephews. She also leaves beh1nd two special friends, Bill Allen and Christopher Marshall. A service was conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Stuarts Draft chapel of Etter Funeral Home by Don Cash. Burial was at White Rock cemetery. Active pallbearers were Roger Allen, John Hailey, William Coffey, Bill Sensabaugh, Bill Allen and Glenn Allen.
