  Mrs. Viola Turner Stewart Taylor, 87, 1251 Blundell Hollow Road, Afton, died 
Tuesday, November 18, 2003, at the residence.
  She was born June 27, 1916, in Wintergreen, Va. The daughter of Howard and 
Sally Turner. She was a member of the Elk Hill Baptist Church, Wintergreen. She 
is the last member of her immediate family.
  Surviving relatives include two sons, James Stewart and John Stewart both of 
Nellysford, Va.; five daughters, Mrs. Mamie Turner and husband, Eddie, Ms. Mary 
Ann Stewart, both of Charlottesville, Mrs. Martha Winston and husband, Jordan, 
of Afton, Mrs. Edna McLamore of Elpaso, Texas, Mrs. Jerline Gray and husband, 
Samuel of Arrington, Va.; 30 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren; nine great 
great grandchildren; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; a foster 
son, F.P. Phillips, A special friend , and care giver, Mrs. Debbie Mawyer and a 
close friend of the family, Darryl Thomas.
  A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2003, 
in the Elk Hill Baptist Church by Rev. horace Spears, assisted by Rev. Clifton 
McDonald, Rev. Henry Banks and Pastor Leslie Givens. Interment in the Elk Hill 
Cemetery.
  The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Lewis Funeral 
Home, Waynesboro, and other times at the residence.
  Lewis Funeral Home, Waynesboro is in charge of arrangements.
