Thompson, 2001 Source: Daily News Leader, 17 Sep 2001 Contributor: Carol Harlow -------------------------------------------------------- STAUNTON - Donald William Thompson, 94, formerly of Swoope, died Sunday (Sept. 16, 2001) at Oak Hill Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 31, 1906 at Montebello, a son of George W. and Clemantine (Fitzgerald) Thompson. Prior to retirement, he was employed by Bethlehem Steel Company, Baltimore. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby (Martin) Thompson; a son, Wetzel Dale Thompson; a daughter, Loretta Thompson; four brothers, Ealon, Byron, Roy and DuVal Thompson; and four sisters, Maggy Thompson, Lelia Patterson, Nellie Wagner Bell and Inez Devenney. Surviving are a number of nieces, including Theresa Myers of Baltimore; nephews; great-nieces; and great- nephews. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Green Hill Cemetery, with the Rev. Glenn Davis presiding.
