Thompson, 80, a retired employee of Albemarle and Nelson Railroad in Nelson County, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruth Crawley, 2221 Keswick Ave. where he made his home. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Crawley are five daughters, Mrs. Margaret Woolls, Mrs. Carrie Estes and Mrs. Elizabeth Jones of Alexandria, Mrs. Ethel Brown of Richmond and Mrs. Lillie Doggett of Chancellor, Spotsylvania County; three sons, Daniel R. Thompson of Etters, Pa., Hawes L. Thompson of Richmond and George O. Thompson of Bumpass, Louisa County; two brothers, Cleveland and Lee Thompson, both of Alexandria; five sisters Mrs. Florence Morris of Schuyler, Nelson County, Mrs. Bell Davis, Mrs. Neeley Spencer, Mrs. Annie Spencer and Mrs. Mildred Davis; 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm Monday at Joseph W. Bliley Funeral Home with burial at Oakwood Cemetery. Contributor’s notes: Thomas Washington Thompson was born December 23, 1873 in Nelson County the son of Samuel Robert Thompson and Elvira Behetherland Morris.
