Obituary: Henry Cleveland Thompson, 1971 Source: The Daily Progress, 1/15/1971 Friday Contributor: Mary Woolls, Mara5wool@aol.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Faber – Henry Cleveland Thompson, formerly of Lovingston and Alexandria, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday (January 13, 1971) at the home of his nephew, R. Kemper Thompson of Faber. He was 84. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Alexandria. Born in Nelson County, April 18, 1882, he was the son of the late Sam and Elvira Morris Thompson. Surviving are three sons, Samuel J. Thompson of Portsmouth, Percy G. Thompson of Covington and Ernest C. Thompson of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Virginia B. Hubbard of Ashland; a brother, Lee Thompson of Alexandria; two sisters, Mrs. Nealie Spencer of Woodstock and Mrs. Annie Spencer of Lovingston; 21 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
