Obituary: Vernon Sheppard Truslow, died Aug. 24, 1986 Source: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------- WINTERGREEN-Vernon Sheppard Truslow, 84, of Route 1, died Sunday in the Lovingston Health Care Center. He was born Oct. 8, 1901, in Wintergreen, a son of the late Jefferson N. and Allie Dameron Truslow. Mr. Truslow was a retired farmer. He was a member and an honorary elder of the Wintergreen Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Clora Puckett Truslow; three sons, Charles J. "Jack" Truslow of Wintergreen, John Wesley Truslow of Waynesboro and James Carroll Truslow of Lovingston; three daughters, Mabel Truslow Napier and Myrtle Coffey, both of Wintergreen, and Ollie Fitzgerald of Nellysford; 18 grandchildren, 28 great- grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in Wintergreen Christian Church by the Rev. Cecil Rhodes, with interment in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Roger Napier, William Truslow, Eric Truslow, Kevin Coffey, Chester Fitzgerald Jr. and Martin Truslow. Honorary pallbearers will be members and friends of the church. The family will receive friends in Byrum-Parr Funeral Home, Roseland, 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and at other times in the home of Mrs. Mabel Truslow.
