Obituary: John Roger Truslow, died June 23, 1986 Published: Unknown Newspaper Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------- John Roger "Trigger" Truslow, 52, of 445 Augusta Farms Rd. died Monday evening in Blue Ridge Hospital in Charlottesville. He was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Staunton, a son of the late Samuel Houston and Myrtle Hicks Truslow. He was a former employee of Precision Metal and was a U.S. Army veteran. He attended the Sher-lynd Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Melba Dawn Collins Truslow; a son, John A. "Tony" Truslow of Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. James "Cindy" Owens of Fisherville and Mrs. Betty Claytor of Waynesboro; five brothers, James Truslow of Stuarts Draft, Harry Truslow of Waynesboro, Walter Truslow of Alexandria, Charles Hicks Truslow of Sherando, and Lewis Truslow of Fredericksburg; three sisters, Mrs William "Helen" Potter of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Arvin "Mildred" Creef and Mrs. Nellie Noe, both of Waynesboro; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel H. Truslow, Jr., and a sister, Miss Peggy Truslow. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of McDow Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Tommy B. Toms. Burial will be in Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Blair Knick, Wayne Shields, Claude Greaver, Michael Collins, Winfred Wingfield, Joe Lowery, Roger Welter and Wayne Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be His nephews and cousins.
