Obituary: Alice Vest Turner, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, December 25, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow ------------------------------------------------------------------- Alice Marie Vest Turner, 51, of Forestville, Md., departed this life, Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, in a Clinton, Md., hospital. Born Aug. 28, 1951, in Shipman, (Nelson County), she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Vest and Essie Mae Washington Vest. She was a member of Bright Hope Baptist Church at Lovingston. She is survived by her husband, Clarence L. Turner; three sons, Steve Turner and Clarence L. Turner Jr., both of District Heights, Md., and Richard Richardson of Arlington; two daughters, Kim Porter and Tomika Perry, both of Forestville, Md.; six sisters, Irene Tillman of Roseland, and Dorothy Martin, Helen Meredith, Florence Bell, Anna Meredith and Mary West, all of Shipman; three brothers, Robert Vest of Lynchburg, Leroy Vest of Lovingston and Oscar Vest of Buckingham; nine grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bright Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Horace Spears officiating. Interment will be held in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of the service Friday.
