Mallie Roberta Thompson, 95, of Arrington, (Nelson County), departed this life 
Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at the Lovingston Health Care Center.
Born in Nelson County on July 4, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Willie 
and Susan Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Thompson 
Sr., and a daughter, Caroline Thompson.
Mallie was a member of New Mount Baptist Church, where she served as president 
of the senior choir, past president of the Helping Hands Circle and past 
chairman of the Pleasant View Cemetery Association.
She is survived by two sons, Albert Thompson of Arrington and Roy Thompson of 
Philadelphia; two daughters, Christine McCullogh of Philadelphia and Alice 
Thompson of Arrington; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. In 
addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray 
Thompson, a brother, William Carter, and a sister, Annie Webb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at New 
Mount Baptist Church, by the Rev. Allen Panell, with burial in Pleasant View 
Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:30 a.m. until the 
funeral time. Byrum-Parr Funeral Home is serving the family.
