Minnie Hughes Truslow, 79, of Spruce Creek, Nellysford, (Nelson County), died 
Thursday, February 12, 2004, at the Lovingston Health Care Center. Born in 
Nelson County, December 25, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William M. 
Hughes and Gracie V. Hughes. She was the widow of Charlie J. Truslow, (Jack) 
who died January 25, 1999. She was a member of Wintergreen Christian Church. 
She was a well-loved mother and grandmother.
She is survived by three sons, Charlie J. Truslow, Jr., and his wife, Dottie 
of Roseland, William S Truslow of Stuarts Draft, and Timothy D. Truslow and 
his wife, Cathy of Shipman; two daughters, Mrs. James A. Grant, Sr., (Frances) 
and Mrs. George E. Davis (Lindsay), all of Shipman; three sisters, Jeanette 
Thompson of Stoney Creek, Elizabeth Woodson of Spruce Creek, and Gladys 
Herring of Afton; two brothers, Robert (Bob) Hughes of Roseland and Massie 
Hughes of Batesville; 13 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 23 great-
grandchildren, and 1 step-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and 
cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 
a sister, Pocahontas Newberry, and two brothers, Lewis Hughes and William 
Merkley Hughes.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2004, at 
Wintergreen Christian Church by Pastor Robert Mansfield and the Rev. David 
Blevins, with burial in the Truslow family cemetery in Beech Grove. The family 
will receive friends at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home from 7 - 8:30 p.m. today.
