Benford Harden Viar (Benny), 56, died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at his 
residence in Arrington. 
Born in Nelson County, June 28, 1947, he was a son of the late Everette Wilson 
Viar and Easter Stevens Viar. 
He is survived by two sons, Norman Viar and his fiancée, Jasmine, of 
Jacksonville, Fla., and Wade Viar of Monroe; three brothers, Dickie, Lester 
and Roger Viar; seven sisters, Frances McCormick, Anna Mae Bryant, Arlene 
Johnston, Jenny Harvey, Lucille Tyree, Charlene Campbell and Sherry Baker; a 
grandson, Rhett Viar; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his 
parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Viar. 
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 2, 2004, at Byrum-
Parr Funeral Home, with burial in Amherst Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight, April 30, 2004, at the 
funeral home. 
Byrum-Parr Funeral Service, Roseland, is in charge of arrangements.
