Obituary: Harvey Bledsoe Ware, 2003 Source: The Daily Progress, May 3, 2003 Contributor: Dennis Truslow --------------------------------------------------------------------- Harvey Bledsoe Ware, 83, of Afton, (Nelson County), died Thursday, May 1, 2003, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. Born Feb. 11, 1919, in Orange County, he was a son of the late James T. Ware and Rosa Kegley Ware. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of Nelson United Methodist Church and former Lab. Tech. With the American Cynamid Chemical Co., of Piney River, the James T. Davis Paint Co., of Lynchburg, and the National Lead Co. A member of the Nelson County Lions Club and for several years was the local weather reported to WSET Television Station for the community of Lovingston, and he was an employee of Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel, Lovingston, for 12 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Baker Ware, along with his daughters, Beverly Martin and Faye Langran, both of Afton and Sandra Proctor of Staunton; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Nelson United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Hassmer and the Rev. Steve Proctor officiating, with interment in the Amherst Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Funeral Home and suggest that memorials take the form of donations to the Building Fund of Nelson United Methodist Church or ones favorite charity. Military Rites will be accorded at the graveside by Withers/Hughes V.F.W. Post # 7701, of Colleen.
