Obituary: Jane Loving (Morris) Wood, 2002 Source: The Daily Progress, December 20, 2002 Contributor: Dennis Truslow -------------------------------------------------------------- Jane Loving (Morris) Wood, 45, of North Garden, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2002, from complications after a liver transplant at the University of Virginia Medical Center, with her family by her side. Born Sept. 9, 1957, at Shipman, (Nelson County), she was a daughter of Robert Lee Morris and Barbara Curtis Morris of Shipman. Jane was a graduate of Nelson County High School and was employed by Manor House Retirement Village as a certified nursing assistant before her illness forced her retirement. She was also a former employee of Comdial Cooperation in Charlottesville with over 15 years of service and was a member of Charlottesville Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 27 years, Herman R. Wood; one son, Ronnie Shane Wood of North Garden; sisters, Brenda M. Craig of Charleston, S.C., and Elizabeth M. Churms and her husband, Donald of Charlottesville; her mother-in-law, Louise Allen of Lovingston; her uncles, Robert D. Curtis and his wife, Sara of Lynchburg and Warren T. Morris and his wife, Charlotte of Shipman; sisters-in-law, Ethel Allen of Lovingston, and Catherine Stratton and her husband, Robert of Charlottesville; brothers-in-law, Harold Wood and his wife, Pat of Wingina, Cecil Wood of Amherst, James Wood and his wife, Monica of Adelphia, Md., George Wood and his wife, Olive of Charlottesville, Dewey Wood and his wife, Sarah of Arrington and Steven Wood of Earlysville; along with many much loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and very special close friends, Mrs. Eddie Ryan and George and Clara Carter, all of Charlottesville, Chris Martin and Josie Joseph of Green County. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston with bishop Rufus Hayes and the Rev. John Campbell officiating with interment in Trinity Church Cemetery at Oak Ridge in Arrington. The family will receive friends following the interment in the social hall of Calvary Baptist Church in Lovingston.
